“THERE IS NOT A FRAGMENT IN ALL NATURE, FOR EVERY RELATIVE FRAGMENT OF ONE THING IS A FULL HARMONIUS UNIT IN ITSELF.” - JOHN MUIR

ABOUT US

Hello! We are Tyler and Esther Osgood, a husband and wife team with a passion for creativity and collaboration. With backgrounds in design and illustration, our journey began with a shared love for illustration and printmaking and a desire to make beautiful and inspiring art. We find our inspiration in the natural world, with work featuring the flora and fauna of the Great Lakes region and explorations into outer space. We hope to encourage people to remember and seek out experiences of curiosity, discovery, and unity in everyday life.

OUR PROCESS

Our process begins with a preliminary sketch on paper, which serves as a foundation for the illustration. We then paint in traditional mediums like ink and gouache, because they help us achieve the natural edges and textures we love. We design each illustration in layers with the screen printing method in mind.

Screen printing is a manual printmaking process, where layers of ink are applied one color at a time. A mesh screen is used for each color, with a stencil of the illustration applied to the surface of the screen. Ink is pushed through the screen onto the paper using a squeegee, transferring the color onto the surface. This process is repeated for each color until the final image is complete. Typically, our prints consist of 2-4 colors, and our editions are limited to 100 or fewer prints. This method allows for vibrant colors and rich textures due to the layering of ink, and because each print is individually crafted by hand, we achieve unique and subtle variations that make every print special.
